What does this Merge Images tool do?

This page lets you quickly combine two images into a single picture. It’s useful for side-by-side comparisons, before-and-after shots, mockups, or simple collages. You can choose to place the images horizontally or vertically, adjust the border color and thickness, and then download the result in several popular formats.

How the size matching works

When “Match sizes” is enabled, the tool automatically scales one or both images so they share the same height (for horizontal merges) or the same width (for vertical merges). This avoids awkward misalignment where one image is taller or wider than the other.

  • Horizontal layout: both images are scaled so their heights match.
  • Vertical layout: both images are scaled so their widths match.
  • Original sizes: disable the checkbox if you prefer no size adjustment.

Tips for better results

  • Use images with similar aspect ratios if you want a clean, balanced look.
  • Pick a border color that matches or contrasts nicely with your images.
  • Increase the thickness to create more breathing space between the images.
  • Export as PNG if you need transparency around your merged picture.

Because everything runs locally in your browser, you can safely use this Merge Images tool for design drafts, social media posts, presentations, or quick comparisons without worrying about uploads or privacy.
